Best online courses for achieving fluency in classical and Koine Greek?

Post by PeterSlaterIII »

This doesn't appear to be an active forum, but anyway, I'm thinking about signing up for an online course and I was wondering if anyone could make any suggestions or recommendations. I'm looking for something that focuses on the latest teaching methodologies and avoids GT.

Hi Peter,

I cannot speak for Classical but for Koine you might look into Biblical Language Center (https://www.biblicallanguagecenter.com/). I am in their Greek 101C at present and very much enjoying it. The BLC approach is to teach Koine as a living language, involving speaking, listening, reading and writing. I have studied Koine via GT methods for a number of years. I have wanted to get a more direct feel for the language, to internalize the language to a much higher degree than I have so far. This is what BLC aims to help you do. It's all being done online with classes over Zoom.

Thx
