I am looking for an original Greek text (and English version of it, if exists) of the live of Jacob the Feaster, saint of the early church.
Unfortunately, I have only Slavonic text from the Patericon by Dmitry Rostovsky (https://azbyka.ru/otechnik/Dmitrij_Rost ... 0#note1726) where he is named "Иаков Постник". His memory celebrates in March, 4 according to Julian calendar.
The story tells that saint Jacob spent 10 years crying out the murder and rape he made being already saint (that information probably should help in searchings). I would be grateful for finding at least an English version of that text.
Searching for certain story from paterikon.

I can't easily identify a Greek text for this. Do you have reason to believe that it exists? Any clues that might help track it down?

The Wikipedia article names some of Rostovsky's sourcesDimpablo wrote: ↑August 21st, 2023, 7:41 am I am looking for an original Greek text (and English version of it, if exists) of the live of Jacob the Feaster, saint of the early church.

In case it makes the search easier, in English he's called Saint James the Faster.Bing's translation wrote:The sources of the collection were a large number of hagiographic and historical monuments, primarily Latin, Greek and Polish, as well as Church Slavonic.
As the most authoritative source, the author used the "Acta Sanctorum" of the Bollandists. The source was "De probatis sanctorum historiis" by Lawrence Surya, the author widely used the Greek lives of Simeon Metaphrastus translated into Latin, made by Surios. As a literary example, the work "Żywoty świętych" ("Lives of the Saints") by the Jesuit Peter Skarga.
The main Church Slavonic source was the Dormition list of the "Great Chetikh-Mines" by Archbishop Macarius of Novgorod (1530-1541). The first books of this collection were sent to Demetrius with the blessing of Patriarch Joachim at the beginning of 1686, but in March 1688 Demetrius had to return them. Beginning in 1695, books were sent with the blessing of Patriarch Hadrian. Church Slavonic sources also include the Kiev-Pechersk Paterik (Kiev editions of 1661 and 1678) and the Prologue.
