In this forum, we will work with people who are training OCR engines for Polytonic Greek, helping them improve the quality of their engines by correcting specific texts.

Im digitizing the Apophthegmata Patrum

Post by mahasacham »

I am currently digitizing the Apophthegmata Patrum (Gerontikon) in Greek. I wanted to let everyone know in case someone happens to be doing the same. When I am done, I hope to set up a blog dedicated to the study of this composition.
I hope to have this digitized in a few months. I am using the Git Hub OCR repository for the Patrologia Graecum which is making things less tedious (Tome 65). Also a great help is the open source Libre Office Ancient Greek spell check extension and tool set.
I'm currently a little over a third of the way done (στοιχεῖον Ἄλφα ἤδη ἐτελεύτησα).

Thanks! It's nice to have the Desert Fathers in Greek.
