Yes! Thanks! Looks good. I haven't looked in depth yet as I'm about to go teach NT Greek....
How does one attach a file to a post? I can't quite see the way. Thanks!
Best, Susan

Here is a screenshot of what I see when I open the Doc. The PDF you sent fixed the problem, but just as an FYI (as someone explained to me how to attach things... my lousy eyesight at the moment meant I didn't see the Attachments tab below!).

Thanks Susan and Jason both for the problem and non-problem reports!
You do need a font that supports polytonic Greek to display polytonic Greek text. I don't think there are that many. I've picked for this document Alegreya which is Open Fonts Licensed and available from Google Fonts here: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Alegreya but, Susan, if you have SBL BibLit or another font that works for characters like ῦ then you should just be able to select-all and set the font in the document, for instance if you wanted to use an excerpt for some reason.

Can you not embed fonts in the PDF? I know that Word 2016 allows you to embed OpenType fonts in .docx files and also in exported PDFs.daveburt wrote: ↑March 8th, 2020, 6:09 am Thanks Susan and Jason both for the problem and non-problem reports!

Yes, you can, and I think that's why it works for Susan where the Word doc doesn't.Jason Hare wrote: ↑March 9th, 2020, 3:57 amCan you not embed fonts in the PDF? The Greek Font Society has a selection of very nice free fonts from various periods that support polytonic. Many of them are Open Font License. Here's a link: https://www.greekfontsociety-gfs.gr/typefaces They even have an uncial font that resembles that used in manuscripts.

Thanks for that link, Devenios. It has quite a variety of different and interesting fonts, including some modern fonts with a neat cursive θ like Skolar (like some common fonts provide for the codepoint ϑ).Devenios Doulenios wrote: ↑March 9th, 2020, 9:10 am The Greek Font Society has a selection of very nice free fonts from various periods that support polytonic.
