Ristin Cooks, 41, of Chatham County died Sunday (May 17, 2009) at her home.
She was buried on her farm on Monday. A celebration of Ristin’s life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 23 at Castle Rock Gardens, followed by a potluck.
Ristin was born in Fayetteville on April 9, 1968 and was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A fixture at the Carrboro Farmers’ Market, Ristin was a farmer, a writer, a carpenter and a dear friend and inspiration to many. Survivors include Patrick Walsh, Susan Cooks, James Cooks, Michael Cooks and others, too numerous to name here.
