The Orange County Historic Preservation Commission, in partnership with the Historical Foundation of Hillsborough and Orange County, will host a photography competition as part of National Historic Preservation Month in May.
The contest theme is old commercial buildings and submissions should highlight nostalgic buildings and other interesting structures in the towns, crossroads and rural areas of Orange County. Youth and amateur photographers are invited to submit up to two entries. Photos must be ready to hang. The winners will receive cash awards and all photographs will be displayed at the Historical Museum on Churton Street in Hillsborough.
Entry forms are available at local libraries, the Historical Museum, the Orange County Planning and Agricultural Building on Revere Road in Hillsborough and visitor centers in Hillsborough and Chapel Hill. Entries should be submitted to the Historical Museum or the Environment and Resource Conservation office by April 30. For more information, contact Darcie Martin at 732-2201 or Tina Moon at 210-2595 or visit the museum website at orangeNChistory.org
