As part of a celebration of the 100th anniversary of Pauli Murray’s birth, a free public panel discussion about the black civil rights advocate will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Wilson Library on the UNC campus.
An historian, attorney, poet, activist, teacher and Episcopal priest, the Rev. Pauli Murray (1910-1985) worked to address injustice and promote reconciliation among races and economic classes.
The discussion will highlight Murray’s unsuccessful attempts in 1938-39 to gain admission to UNC.
