Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools students exceeded the state average on the American College Test by nearly four composite points in 2011.
CHCCS exceeded the state average on all subject area tests that make up the ACT. In 2011, the ACT was taken by 243 CHCCS students – the lowest number of test takers since 2007.
District participation has traditionally been low since the SAT is the test required for admission to the UNC system schools. The ACT is being explored as a possible measure of college-readiness in states adopting the Common Core Standards.
