The Chatham County Public Health Department will host a tick-borne disease community education event on Monday.
Three local community experts on tick-borne diseases will be speaking at the event. Dr. David Weber, a UNC professor, will discuss symptoms and treatment, Dr. Wes Watson, an entomologist from N.C. State, will be talking about different types of ticks, and Judi Anderson, from the DEET Education Program, will speak about preventing tick bites.
The event will be held at the Barn at Fearrington in Pittsboro, 200 Fearrington Village Center, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
