By Jock Lauterer
As longtime residents of Carrboro-Chapel Hill know, there are only two seasons in our communities: Students Here and Students Gone. With the return of thousands of students, this week marks that calendrical shift into the fall semester. And with that, everything changes. A simple walk across campus brings the roving photographer upon a rowdy bunch of clowns posing at the Old Well. Actually, they’re upperclassfolk serving as counselors for the Campus Y’s annual freshman orientation camp, which this year featured a circus theme.
