Earlier this month, Melodie Parrish, a retired N.C. school administrator, was named interim principal of Chapel Hill High School.
Parrish has 37 years of experience working in schools and school administration. She has served in roles including PE teacher, ISS teacher, assistant principal, test coordinator, technology coordinator and director of accountability and SIMS (Student Information Management System). Parrish has held several interim administrator roles since her retirement.
Parrish has a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education with a minor in classical languages from Campbell University and a master’s degree in education administration and supervision from North Carolina Central University.
Parrish began work Aug. 17.
