The Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom Triangle branch celebrates its 75th anniversary with a gala on Sunday at the Community Church of Chapel Hill Unitarian Universalist, 506 Purefoy Road, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.Â
The event will feature a reception, international buffet and keynote address by Nancy Munger and Laura Roskos, co-presidents of the WILPF US Section.Â
Other highlights will include the premiere of a Triangle WILPF anniversary video and singing by the Raging Grannies. The celebration will also include the announcement of a fund to provide scholarships for young local activists to obtain leadership training at social justice conferences and training programs. A donation of $15 to $75 is suggested for the event.
