Robins? Check. Daffodils? Check. Book sales? Check, check, check and check.
There are a few well-know signs of spring, and books sales at the local libraries are among them. Four sales are upcoming:
• The Friends of the Orange County Public Library will hold their Spring Book Sale March 25-27 at the new Orange County Main Library on Margaret Lane in Hillsborough. Hours are 4-8 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 1-4 p.m. on Sunday.
Hardbacks are $1 and paperbacks 50 cents. On Sunday, there will be a bag sale for $3. On Friday, the sale is for members only, but new friends can join at the door.Â
• Weekly Wednesday book sales are back at the Chapel Hill Public Library from 3-5 p.m. Fiction, nonfiction and children’s books’ prices start at 50 cents with gift quality and current fiction priced from $1 to $4.
• Friends of the Carrboro Branch Library are holding their annual sale in the McDougle Schools’ Cafetorium March 19-20. Hardbacks are $1.50, trade paperbacks are $1, small paperbacks are 50 cents and DVDs and CDs are $1.
• The Friends of the Chatham Community Library will host their Spring Book Sale March 31-April 2 at the new Chatham Community Library on the Pittsboro campus of Central Carolina Community College.
Sale hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
