The Orange County Main Library will host a Vesta Fiesta on Aug. 5 at 3:30 p.m. to celebrate the beginning of the NASA Dawn mission’s yearlong visit to the protoplanet Vesta.
The Dawn spacecraft left Earth on Sept. 17, 2007 and will reach Vesta this summer. Described as “A Journey to the Beginning of the Solar System,†scientists are seeking answers to the most fundamental questions in planetary science.
Presenter Dr. Michael J. Malaska, a volunteer in the NASA and JPL Solar System Ambassador program, will speak at the event.
