Mr. Thomas Vernon Wheeley Sr. died Friday, June 5, 2009 in UNC Hospitals. He was a native of Orange County and graduated from Chapel Hill High School. While in the U.S. Marines, he was stationed at Camp Lejeune and served in the Korean conflict. Until retirement he was a painter.
