Probably more the next Keith "Mister" Jennings than the next "Muggsy" Bogues. Winner of the Francis Pomeroy Naismith award in 97-98, given to the best player under 6 feet tall (previous winners include Jennings and Bogues). Very small stature, but more than makes up for it with his game. Tremendous scorer. Good outside shot (although not as sharp as Jennings was). Good playmaker who cut down on his turnovers his senior year. Problems obviously will come on defense. Probably doesn't create as many turnovers as he should with his pesky size. Should latch on as a 2nd round pick as a backup PG for somebody. |

I want to know what is wrong with everybody? Doesn't anyone relize how good Earl Booykins is? He was second in the nation in scoring with 25.2 ppg. He has played on the 22 and younger usa team. Lead his team past duke during 96. This guy should be picked around 25-30 not 60-65. He has done well at the draft camps too. Yes he is small but a way better player than spudd webb ever was. He has the ability to score at will, or dish off to an open man. His defense will be a problem, but with a good srength trainer he will be able to stay with the big point gaurds. I see alot of potential in him. Boykins hust might be the steal of the draft. |
