Scouting Report: Ken Bowers [kenb@uclink4.berkeley.edu]
He's not 6'8". I'd guess he's closer to 6'6" than 6'7".
That's a big drop for a guy whose main skill is rebounding. Fowlkes
has a tremendous ability to read the ball coming off the rim and go get it.
Fine athlete and a hard worker on the court. He showed a bit of an outside
shot at Cal but that seems to have disappeared at Fresno State. He seems to
be turning pro because he has no good options left in college. If he were at
a school where he could develop his outside skills I assume he would stay for
his senior season. He'll give his all in someone's training camp then move
on to Europe or the CBA to work on his game. I wouldn't surprised to see him
on an NBA roster at some point a few years down the road. He seems to have
the ability, but a suspension and transfer prevented him from developing his
game much after his freshman season.
