Scouting Report: Ken Bowers [kenb@uclink4.berkeley.edu]
The Best Player Ever To Come Out Of New Zealand.

Cal fans were hoping from a breakout year from Marks in his senior
season but didn't get it. The offensive skills he flashed through
his first three years didn't gel and Marks produced like a role
player despite being the focus of the offense for much of the
season. On the plus side, he was one of the best rebounders in
the conference.

Marks has some assets that will interest NBA teams--size combined
with agility, decent rebounding ability, and a nice shooting touch
out to about 18 feet. He won't be much of a post threat in the
NBA but he should be able to hit the outside shot needed to make
a pick-and-roll work. I don't see him getting drafted due to his
mediocre senior season and an injury history that caused him to
miss a significant number of games his first two years and cut
into his production in each of the last two. If he is interested
I expect he'll get an opportunity in an NBA camp. Australia's
ABL seems like a logical option if he's interested in playing
closer to home..
