The outstanding college basketball player of 1999-2000. An
explosive shot-blocker. Displayed much improved offensive presence last
year. Kenyon is probably shorter than 6-9, but his leaping ability is
so incredible it will not matter much. Kenyon is the best pure
power forward of this draft and will be one of the best defensive players
in the league for years to come. Martin broke his leg just before the
NCAA tournament, but a full recovery is expected.

Kenyon Martin is the most athletic player in this years nba draft. He is a
6'8" monster in the middle on defense. His presence is felt
everytime anybody drives down the middle. Some say his offensive game is
raw but I think it is just untapped. He has the potential to face the
basket and hit the 15' or just jump over his man and dunk. Also he is very
quickand can drive on most people his size. Overall I think the Nets
would be fools not to take him.

Comparable to Marcus Camby. He should be able to contribute with shotblocking, hustle, and rebounding. His dominating inside game will disappear in the NBA at first - he won't be able to post that low and hop over defenders. His offensive improvement in his senior year speaks to commitment ot improve his game and suggests that he'll do everything possible to come back from the injury in top shape. Not a franchise player, but almost certain to be a strong contributor and has the potential to be a top player if his offense continues to improve. Scout: Kenneth Bowers |
