Additional Information
Would have gone higher had he gone back to school. But he's staying in the draft
and he's a likely second-round pick.
Andy Katz - ESPN.com (June 11th)
The one concern with Evans is the low angle of his jump shot, but the results
were impressive. Evans showed up in spectacular condition and was the best wing
athlete in the camp. He has enough ballhandling skills to attack the goal
against NBA defenders, but he must finish stronger.
Mike DeCourcy - The Sporting News (June 6th)
Scouting report by Matt Armstrong
Evans is a spectacular athlete. His musculature is incredible for a shooting guard. Imagine a more muscular Vince Carter and you have an idea of this
guy's physical conditioning.
Evans can get up and finish on the break
and has a decent midrange game due to his athleticism.
His outside
shot is what will put him in the second round. He has a hitch in his shot
that prevents him from being a consistent outside threat.
Evans will be
useful for a team looking for athleticism, but he's not a complete package.

Strengths:Excellent player in the open court has wonderful body control and leaping
ability .... Has a NBA ready body that will be able to take the rigors of an
82-game schedule ..... Great finisher fearless in transition ..... Slasher loves
to take the ball hard to the hoop and go for the big jam.... Has all the
necessary tools such as quick hands, lateral quickness , and anticipation to
become a good defender on the next level .... Can make an impact on the boards
due to his leaping ability ..... Tremendous athlete easily one of the top 5 in
the draft .... Has 3-point range on his jump shot .....
Weakness: Not a very consistent shooter from the perimeter goes through periods where his
shot becomes streaky .... Doesn't really have that killer take over a game type
attitude simply plays at times too passive ... While he is a slasher his ball
handling isn't the best as he has a bad habit of turning the ball over ....
Hasn't really played that many high level games in his career .... While Wichita
St. plays in a respectable conference the talent level isn't what it is in the
BIG 12 and he did have some problems adjusting to the level of play in his first
season at a high division 1 school .... While he does have 3-point range he
isn't what on would call a consistent threat ...
