Additional Information
Failed to distinguish himself and he seems to have hit a plateau. He had a chance to move up in the draft and missed out on the opportunity.
Andy Katz - ESPN.com (June 11th)
Scouts thought he would bomb at Portsmouth -- he didnąt. Then he was sent to Phoenix to flunk out -- he didnąt. Came into Chicago with the premise that his size (5 feet, 9 inches) would eliminate him from contention -- it didnąt. Phillips continues to stun NBA types with his electric play and speed. Able to find teammates and make his own shot, Phillips, by far, has been the most entertaining player of all in these camps.

Strengths:Has a tremendous amount of quickness gets pass most defenders with his quick first step. .. Very good 3-point shooter who when he gets hot can beat you by himself .... Has a good ability to draw fouls and when getting to the line converts a high amount of free throw shots ... Very confident player who feels he can score on anybody .... Has some leadership qualities that are vital most important of them all is his ability to make those around him better .... Plays with a big heart tough kid who can take a hit and keep on going ... Plays good on the ball defense stays low to the ground which makes him hard to dribble past .... Intelligent kid who understands the basics of the game .....

Weakness: Definitely undersized listed at 5-10 looks to be 5-9 will undoubtly become a post up target in the NBA ... Has had problems with turnovers mainly due to the fact that he was often double teamed .... Can get a little trigger happy shooting from the 3-point took where he took about half of his jumpers .... Defense while descent could stand a little more improvement although this could have more to do with the fact that he had to concentrate on scoring .... Needs to show that he mentally switch to playing more of a point guard style in terms of thinking as of right now Phillips thinks shoot first and pass second ...
