Corkscrew Reviews

---------------------------------

Height 78 ft, Speed 40, built 1976. Apparantly the first Arrow triple inversion corkscrew....supposedly the first to have 3 inversions. The chart said that it was the first to have a vertical loop....I believe the Revloution was built in 1975, wasn't it? Well this looked really sweet...sporting a *nice* new paintjob. Had the hardest neckrests...whoops, I mean, headrests, I'd ever seen. A very visually pleasing coaster....plus it's fun to yell at the people watching the coaster go through the corkscrew. :) Was definately worth the 10 and 5 min waits that i had.

---------------------------------

Advanced for it's time I guess, but pretty tame compared to SFGAm's Shockwave. However, Corkscrew is a lot gentler on your head.

Nice new paint job. Rode it once, in the front. Has a great first drop (just TRY to keep your feet on the floor), but otherwise unremarkable. Again, a smooth, solid performer.

This was also a "one-ride" coaster during the weekend. I suppose we've all been spoiled by multi-inversion mania during the past several years. But, this coaster has the only loops in the park, if that's your pleasure.

YAAL (Yet Another Arrow Looper). One loop and two corkscrews. Been there. Done that. What's next. Actually, the second hill, before the loop, was a surprise. Negative G's were noticed (no such thing as airtime with Horse-Collars). Unfortunately, the head rest padding was about as soft as a 2x4, and my head felt like it had been hit by one on this hill.

About a 15 minute wait. Three trains running.

---------------------------------

The only looper (until '94!) at the park and it's a pretty tame looper. Just a vertical loop and one corkscrew and you're done! Well, I guess it was exciting in 1976 (or is that 78?) Nice intro to loops if you are a little leary of them. Lost yet another *#%& headband on this one...

2 rides. So what all it does is flip you. At least if you look sideways it's more interesting.
