James Edward Taylor (1932-2003)

James Edward Taylor was born in East Providence, Rhode Island, on 22 August 1932. Nine years later his family moved to Texas, where he graduated from Austin High School in 1950. After some months of higher education, he enlisted in the Navy in April 1951. He served in USS Sausalito (PF-4) during 1951-1952 and was later assigned to USS O'Brien (DD-725). He left active service in March 1955 as a Second Class Petty Officer and returned to college. Graduated from St. Mary's University at San Antonio, Texas. in 1959, Taylor soon began a career with the U.S. Treasury Department. Following his retirement in August 1987, he resided in Kendall County, Texas. James Edward Taylor died at San Antonio on 17 July 2003.
