    Hawker "Sea Fury" Fighter


    Is catapulted from the British light fleet aircraft carrier HMS Glory, during Korean war operations circa June 1951.
    This photograph was released by Commander, Naval Forces Far East on 7 June 1951.
    This aircraft wears the number "VR-943".

    First Korean War Carrier Air Strikes, 3-4 July 1950


    A North Korean railroad train is attacked just south of Pyongyang by planes from the joint U.S.-British Task Force 77, 4 July 1950.
    The carriers involved were USS Valley Forge (CV-45) and HMS Triumph.

    Evacuation of Inchon, Korea, December 1950-January 1951


    A launch from HMS Kenya comes alongside USS Eldorado (AGC-11), as a snow storm sweeps through Inchon harbor.
    Eldorado was command ship for the evacuation of United Nations' forces and supplies from Inchon. Kenya provided gunfire support for the operation.
    The original photograph was released by Commander, Naval Forces, Far East, and is dated 22 December 1950.

    Sorye Dong Raid, April 1951


    LVTs embarking British Royal Marine commandos leave USS Fort Marion (LSD-22) for the beach at Sorye Dong, North Korea, on 7 April 1951. The commandos blew up about 100 yards of railroad, in an effort to interdict enemy logistics, and were then successfully reembarked.

    USS Gull (AMS-16)


    Sweeping for mines during a commando raid by British Royal Marines at Chinnampo, North Korea. Original photo is dated 15 June 1951.
    This operation was intended to cut rail and other enemy supply lines.
    Note lookout watching for mines off Gull's bow.
