Portrait photograph, taken at Tokyo by Mitsukoshi & Co. in October 1908, during the "Great White Fleet"'s visit to Japan.
The original print and its mount are autographed by RAdm. Sperry, who added the inscription: "In token of my regard for the Gunnery Officers of the Atlantic Fleet. The Fleet which gets in an effective salvo thirty seconds ahead will have an enormous advantage."
