View in the northwestern part of the Navy Yard, taken by Brady & Company in June 1866.
The photograph looks south-south east from the tower that then stood in the Yard's northwest corner. Several small buildings are in the foreground, two with double-roofs indicating use for ammunition storage. The large smokestack at left is in the center of the present Building #s 33 & 36 "Quadrangle". The western shiphouse is in the right distance.
