U.S. Navy rifle team that first won the Auckland Cup

At Auckland, New Zealand, during the "Great White Fleet"'s visit there in 1908.
The team members, all 1906-1907 graduates of the U.S. Naval Academy, include bottom row, left to right:
Midshipman Richard T. Keiran;
Midshipman Robert C. Giffen;
Midshipman Thaddeus A. Thomson, Jr.;
Midshipman Stephen Doherty;
Midshipman Francis A.L. Vossler; and
Midshipman Ezra G. Allen.
top row, left to right:
Midshipman Carl T. Osburn;
Midshipman Richard Hill;
Midshipman William F. Amsden;
Midshipman Vaughn V. Woodward;
Midshipman John W. Lewis; and
Midshipman Roy L.C. Stover.
Note their .30 caliber Krag-Jørgensen rifles, woven cartridge belts and variety of headgear.
