Mary Pope
(American Motor Boat, 1915)

Halftone reproduction of a photograph, with interior general arrangement plan, printed in a contemporary yachting publication. The photo was probably taken when the boat was new, and had the name Manitee. She was later renamed Madge and Mary Pope.
This pleasure craft was taken over by the Navy for Section Patrol service on 7 July 1917 and placed in commission as USS Mary Pope (SP-291) on 9 August 1919. She was destroyed by a hurricane in September 1919, while awaiting sale.
