Charmian II
(American Motor Boat)

Photographed prior to her World War I Naval service.
Built by the Chance Marine Construction Company of Annapolis, Maryland, and owned by J.E. Stanton, Jr., of New Bedford, Massachusetts, this fast (25 miles per hour) pleasure boat was acquired by the Navy on 29 May 1917. After World War I service as USS Charmian II (SP-696) she was returned to her owner on 25 November 1918.
