USS Montclair (ID # 3497)


Photographed in port during World War I, while painted in "dazzle" camouflage. Another ship, of identical topside configuration, is on her opposite side.
Built in 1918 and originally named War Speed, Montclair was acquired by the Navy and commissioned on 19 August 1918. She was returned to the U.S. Shipping Board on 7 July 1919 and was scrapped in 1937.

The original print is in National Archives' Record Group 19-LCM.
