Ships at and off Newport News, Virginia, 31 May 1919

USS SC-413 and USS SC-119 are in the center and center-right foreground.
A New York Shipbuilding Co. (Camden, New Jersey) type collier (one of these eight, some of which served in the Navy: Fairmont, Franklin, Glen White, Plymouth, Sewalls Point, Tidewater, William N. Page or Winding Gulf) is in the center and left-center background, with an ocean-going barge beyond her stern. In the right background is an old Great Lakes' type "whaleback" steamer, with a steam yacht (possibly in, or recently discharged from, U.S. Navy service).
Cropped from NH 106016, a panoramic photograph by Clements, 619 F. St. NW, Washington, D.C., entitled "350th Infantry Arriving Newport News, Va. Decoration Day 1919".

Donation of Dr. Mark Kulikowski, 2008.
