USS Tanager
(Minesweeper # 5)

Three members of the ship's crew visiting Lisbon, Portugal, in October 1919, while she was en route to the U.S. after participating in sweeping the North Sea Mine Barrage. These men are, from left to right:
Quartermaster Third Class T.C. Losch;
Machinist's Mate First Class Maxwell;
and Quartermaster R.R. Bailey.
The original photograph is in the USS Tanager collection (Lot # S-590, page 13).
