USS Mertz
(DD-691)

Ship's Officers and Crew on the pier, with Mertz tied up behind them. Probably taken at San Diego, California, circa early 1946, while the ship was being prepared for decommissioning. Note that the barrels have been removed from the 40mm twin gun mount just forward of the ship's bridge.
USS Gregory (DD-802) is immediately outboard of Mertz.
