"The White Squadron's Farewell Salute to the Body of John Ericsson, New York Bay, August 23, 1890"

Oil on canvas, 36" by 54", by Edward Moran (1829-1901), signed and dated by the artist, 1898.
It depicts USS Baltimore (Cruiser # 3) departing New York Harbor to return the remains of John Ericsson to his native Sweden. Note the Swedish ensign flying from the ship's foremast.
