Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper, USNR(Retired)
Receives an Honorary Doctor of Letters degree from Drexel University,
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in June 1987. University President
William S. Gaither is presenting the degree.
Rear Admiral Hopper, a pioneer in electronic computer development
and programming languages, joined the Naval Reserve in 1943.
She retired in 1986.
