Alameda (American Motor Boat, 1917)

Alameda, a 65-foot motor boat, was built in 1917 by the Western Boat Building Company of Tacoma, Washington, probably for employment in the northwestern fishing trade. She was inspected by the Navy for possible World War I use and assigned the registry number SP-1040. Though her official data card describes her as "brand new well and staunchly built" and contains a note that she was reported to have been delivered and commissioned on 2 June 1917, it appears that she did not, in fact, have any Navy service.

This page features our only view of the motor boat Alameda of 1917.
