Amanda Moore (American Tug, 1900).
May have seen U.S. Navy service in 1918-1919
Amanda Moore, a 121 gross ton tug built in 1900, was
examined for possible U.S. Navy acquisition by the Fifth Naval
District at the beginning April 1918. Though evaluated as "unsuitable
for Naval use", she appears to have been taken over, as her
data card states that she was returned to her owner in May 1919.
Beyond that, there is no record of Amanda Moore's Navy
service.
This page features the only view we have concerning the
tug Amanda Moore, which may have seen U.S. Navy service
in 1918-1919.

In port, circa 1918.
This tug was inspected by the Fifth Naval District on 1 April
1918, but was evaluated as "unsuitable for naval use"
and did not receive a registry ID number. However, she appears
to have been taken over for U.S. Navy service, as her data card
is marked "Ret'd. to owner 5/5/19".
