Arval (American Motor Boat, 1911).
Served as USS Arval (SP-1045) in 1917-1919

Arval, a 75-foot motor boat, was built in 1911 at Stamford, Connecticut, for use as a pleasure craft. She was leased by the Navy at the beginning of November 1917 and placed in commission at Chicago, Illinois, as USS Arval (SP-1045). Leaving the Great Lakes soon afterwards, she took station at Wilmington, North Carolina, where she performed patrol duties for the rest of World War I. Moved to New York in January 1919, Arval was decommissioned and returned to her owner in late February of that year.

This page features our only view of the motor boat Arval, which served as USS Arval during World War I.
