Atlantic (American Tug, 1904)

Atlantic, a 129 gross ton tug, was built in 1904 by the Neafie & Levy Shipbuilding Company at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During World War I, when she was owned by the Atlantic Refining Company of Philadelphia, she was inspected by the U.S. Navy for possible acquisition. Assigned the registry number SP-859, in March 1918 Atlantic was ordered taken over for Naval service. However, this action apparently was not carried out, and she remained in civilian hands.

This page features the only view we have concerning the tug Atlantic of 1904.
