Augusta (American Motor Yacht, 1912).
Served as USS Augusta (SP-946) in 1917-1918

Augusta, a 93-ton motor yacht, was built at Harrisburg, Texas, in 1912. She was leased by the Navy at the beginning of August 1917 and placed in commission later in that month as Augusta (SP-946). Based at Galveston, Texas, she carried out patrol work for the rest of the First World War and was decommissioned and returned to her owner in December 1918. Augusta was thereafter maintained as a pleasure craft until 1953.

This page features the only view we have concerning the motor yacht Augusta, which was USS Augusta (SP-946) in 1917-1918.
