Betty Jane I (American Motor Boat, 1913).
Served as USS Betty Jane I (ID # 3458) in 1917-1919

Betty Jane I, a 36-foot "runabout" type motor pleasure boat, was built at Bayonne, New Jersey, in 1913. She was leased by the Navy in September 1917 and placed in commission as USS Betty Jane I. A year later, while she was assigned to the Sixth Naval District, she was given the registry ID # 3458. The boat was returned to her owner in mid-January 1919.

This page features the only view we have concerning the motor boat Betty Jane I, which was USS Betty Jane I (ID # 3458) in 1917-1919.

Betty Jane I

In port, possibly when she was inspected by the Sixth Naval District on 17 September 1918. She had been leased by the Navy on 4 September 1917 and placed in commission at that time as USS Betty Jane I.
Later assigned the registry ID # SP-3458, this craft was returned to her owner on 17 January 1919.
