Celeritas (American Motor Boat, 1916).
Served as USS Celeritas (SP-665) in 1917-1919

Celeritas, a 60.5-foot high-speed (30 miles per hour) motor pleasure boat, was built in 1916 by Robert Jacobs of City Island, New York. In late May 1917 she was acquired by the Navy from her owner, R.B. Myer of New York City, and placed in commission as USS Celeritas (SP-665). For the remainder of World War I the craft was used for patrol service in southern New England waters. She was stricken from the list of Naval vessels in mid-May 1919 and sold in June of that year.

This page features the only views we have concerning the motor boat Celeritas, which served as USS Celeritas (SP-665) in 1917-1919.
