Charles S. (American Barge, 1916)

Charles S., a 447 gross ton barge, was built in 1916 by R. Lenahan of Rondout, New York. Owned by Dwyer Brothers of New York City, she was inspected in about late 1917 by the Third Naval District for possible World War I acquisition as a coal barge. Though assigned Navy registry ID # 1729, there is no record that she actually entered Naval service.

This page features the only view we have concerning the barge Charles S.
