Cleo (American Motor Boat, 1908)
Served as USS Cleo (SP-232) in 1917-1918

Cleo, a 50-foot motor boat, was built by Johnson at Marine City, Michigan, in 1908. Owned by the State of Michigan, she was taken over by the Navy for World War I service and placed in commission in April 1917 as USS Cleo (SP-232). For the remainder of the conflict she was employed in the vicinity of Detroit, Michigan. The boat was returned to her owner in late November 1918.

This page features the only view we have concerning the motor boat Cleo, which was USS Cleo (SP-232) in 1917-1918.

Owned by the Michigan State Game, Fish and Forrestry Department, this craft served as USS Cleo (SP-232) from April 1917 to November 1918.
