S.S. Coastwise (American Collier, 1910)

Coastwise, a 4015 gross ton collier, was built in 1910 by the New York Shipbuilding Company of Camden, New Jersey. Owned by the Coastwise Transportation Company of Boston, Massachusetts, she operated commercially before and during World War I. Coastwise was inspected for possible U.S. Navy service, and assigned the Navy registry ID # 2442. However, she was not taken over and remained in civilian hands.

This page features the only view we have concerning the collier Coastwise of 1910.
