Coco (American Motor Boat, 1917)
Served as Coco (SP-110) in 1917-1919

Coco, a fast (26 knots) 36-foot motor pleasure boat, was built in 1917 by the Albany Boat Corporation. Owned by W.J. Matheson of Cocoanut Grove, Florida, she was taken over by the Navy in June 1917 and placed in commission a month later as USS Coco (SP-110). Assigned to the Seventh Naval District, the craft served in Florida waters for the rest of World War I and for some months after the fighting ended. She was sold in August 1919, but was wrecked by a hurricane in September, presumably prior to delivery to her new owner.

This page features the only view we have concerning the motor boat Coco, which was USS Coco (SP-110) in 1917-1919.
