Cometa (American Motor Boat, in use 1918).
Served in the U.S. Navy in 1918

In 1918 Cometa, a 25-foot motor pleasure boat, was owned by Saul Streiffer of Gulfport, Mississippi. In August of that year she was taken over, under lease, by the Eighth Naval District for use as a tender. Cometa was returned to her owner in early December 1918.

This page features the only view we have concerning the motor boat Cometa, which served in the Navy in 1918.

Hauled out of the water, circa 1918 or before.
This small motor boat was leased to the Navy on 20 August 1918. After use by the Eighth Naval District, she was returned to her owner, Saul Streiffer of Gulfport, Mississippi, on 4 December 1918.
