Was USS Dicky (SP-231) in 1917-1919

Dicky, a 46-foot motor pleasure boat, was built in 1913 by the Weckler Boat Company of Chicago, Illinois. She was leased by the Navy in April 1917 and placed in commission as USS Dicky (SP-231) in mid-June of that year. For the rest of World War I, the craft was assigned to the Ninth Naval District for patrol service on the Great Lakes. Dicky was returned to her owner, C.N. Steele of Waukeegan, Illinois, in January 1919.

This page features the only view we have concerning the motor pleasure boat Dicky, which was USS Dicky (SP-231) in 1917-1919.
