S.S. Dubhe (Dutch Freighter, 1912).
Was briefly USS Dubhe (ID # 2562) in 1918.

S.S. Dubhe, a 3233 gross ton (7550 tons displacement) freighter, was built at Rotterdam, The Netherlands, for commercial operation under the Dutch flag. She was seized by the U.S. Government in March 1918, transferred to the Navy and, in early April, placed in commission as USS Dubhe (ID # 2562). However, she had no active service, being decommissioned and returned to the U.S. Shipping Board a few days later.

This page features the only view we have concerning the Dutch freighter Dubhe of 1912, which was briefly USS Dubhe (ID # 2562) in 1918.
