Eaglet (American Motor Boat, 1911).
Was USS Eaglet (SP-909, later YP-909) in 1917-1922

Eaglet, an 85-foot motor boat, was built in 1911 (her data card says 1909) by George Lawley & Sons of Neponset, Massachusetts, for use as a pleasure craft. She was acquired by the Navy in June 1917 from F.L. Budlong of Providence, Rhode Island, and placed in commission as USS Eaglet (SP-909). The boat performed patrol duties in New England waters during the World War I era and was designated YP-909 in 1920. Eaglet was ordered inspected for sale in January 1921 and sold in July of that year. However, that transaction was cancelled and she was resold in mid-May 1922.

This page features the only view we have concerning the motor boat Eaglet, which was USS Eaglet (SP-909) in 1917-1922.
